We left for a vacation to sunny Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on September 4th, to enjoy a relaxing time together. The morning of 9/9/09 started off especially happy, as "9" is the luckiest number for the both of us! We were just so excited to get to spend this special day together in my favorite part of the country!!! We had planned a trip to Sanibel Island to spend the day. After that, we came back to the condo to get dressed to go out for a walk on the beach before dinner. Heather decided to take me to a pier along Ft. Lauderdale beach, where we walked to the end of the pier at sunset to take in the serene surroundings of the ocean. A bit uneasy of the water below this wooden structure, I started to feel at ease by the quiteness that surrounded us out in the middle of the ocean! After shooting some pictures of the dazzling sunset, Heather pulled me over to a bench near the end of the pier and droped to her knee, as she asked me to spend the rest of my life with her! Overwhelmed with excitement...the answer was "OF COURSE", and she slid the most gorgeous ring on my finger! Because it was so late by the time we got back to the condo after dinner, I actually went to bed without calling mom and dad...both sets of parents were so happy for us and excited to hear the news the next morning! The most perfect day, with the most perfect proposal, by the most perfect fiance! I couldn't have asked for a more surprisingly lucky day!
We will be having our wedding ceremony at the Amphitheater at the Overland Park Arboretum. It is located on the pond. We will take pictures around the Arboretum right after the ceremony.
